Hey everyone! My name is Bailey Griffin, and I’m a first-year engineering student in the University of Washington’s State Academic Red-Shirt (STARS) program. I hail from a small town in Eastern Washington, where I grew up with antisocial llamas, Canadian geese, several goofy canines, and a younger human brother. I’m thrilled to be going abroad for the first time this summer, in addition to being a camp counselor at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island. After our program in Rome, I will be backpacking in Iceland for five days. Outside of my life at school and my love of traveling, I highly enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping, and thrill seeking. I’m also interested in joining Concrete Canoe this next year, if anyone in Engineering Rome wants to talk about their experiences in the organization, I would love to hear about it 🙂 Attached, please find a lovely picture of Iceland. I’ll see you guys next Tuesday.
