1. Purpose

The Pantheon (Figure 1.) is one of the most famous sights in Italy (Figure 2.) as it is significant for being one of the most well-preserved ancient structures existing in present day Rome. As it is a relic highly revered for is architectural and engineering qualities, its history is well researched. However, there is much detail that remains unknown to us concerning how and when it was built, though there exists many publications today that offer speculations concerning this structure from conception, through the design process, construction, and evolution- each offering various interpretations and views on the subject matter. With so many accounts available from disjointed sources, conflicting accounts about the structure’s history are also apparent. Therefore the purpose of the following wikispace presentation will offer a medium through which various interpretations, journal documents, and web articles on the Pantheon will be presented in a collection that serves to provide an analytical take on Rome’s famous site using historical accounts that are correlative.
